Welcome to my website!
I have spent most of my life as an educator, science nerd, avid gardener, garden designer and, most certainly, nature lover. Now I can add painting with watercolors as a passion. Find out more in About Me.
I'm not quite done with my African wildlife series so the Rainbow Rhino to the right here. I wanted to give him 'character' so he has lots of color and texture.
Because of my love of cheetahs I painted one of the Three Brothers who roamed the Masai Mara in Kenya. They sometimes separate to look for mates. Note the tree shapes in the painting which reminded me of the tree that the brother we saw sat calling for his siblings.
I enjoy painting other wildlife including a Sally Lightfoot crab (Line in the Sand) I saw in the Galapagos, a sea otter (Chillin') up in Alaska and some Seahorses (Seahorse Crossing) I saw at an aquarium.
To satisfy my need for some graphic art, I had too much fun painting the graffiti on the cars at Cadillac Ranch along with the flowers around the map of our Texas Ecoregions (Flower Power: Texas Ecoregions).
